Transitioning to sustainability:
Employee perspectives on workplace practices

Economist Impact has produced a report, sponsored by Kyocera, called “Transitioning to sustainability: employee perspectives on workplace practices” based on a survey conducted with 630 professionals from five major financial hubs: London, New York, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo.
The study assesses workplace sustainability practices across these five global cities and how junior employees and senior executives view these practices. Included in this report:
- A generational myth is challenged regarding which age group at work is more concerned with ESG.
- The most common sustainability initiatives across global businesses are uncovered, as well as the biggest challenges in sustainable transition.
- A top-down dynamic is revealed in which senior executives tend to drive sustainable change.
- A call to action for organizations: adopt a bottom-up approach to engage the entire workforce in sustainable practices.
